Goin back to Cali
So... after spending 4 days in southern Utah on the slopes, we felt we needed a vacation. We found out that the Thompson family (Derek's older sister) were down visiting Disneyland... so we decided to join in on the fun. We drove out after work on Friday and had a great time having a bonfire at the beach on Saturday with everyone, including the Moon family (Rebekah's older sister). Good times!
Awesome Brian Head!
Dude! Brian Head is awesome! The natural spring water? Awesome! That fresh, mountain air? Awesome! Bob was awesome! For those of you who were not there, Bob (our timeshare guide who at the awesome age of 73 and who continually referred to himself in the third person) informed us how awesome Brian Head Resort was... at least a dozen times over an hour. Thanks to our dear friends and best man, the Coombs, we got to spend a fun-filled 4-day trip in Brian Head with them and our other friends, the Bosleys. What more can we say about it? A 4-day trip with no kids, 8 inches of fresh powder the night before skiing and a hot jacuzzi to relax in, it was just awesome! And I must say to all the women out there, Rebekah was the only girl to take on the black diamond runs with the guys! During the trip, though... we decided it was time to allow others to win at Settlers of Catan... so yeah.
The drive up there was very nice. We got to spend a lot of time talking and listening to books on cd, which is something you just can't do with kids. Many thanks to the Coombs and Bosleys for a really fun trip. We look forward to Cabo Azul (which means Blue Water, according to Bob) in 2010. And we definitely are thankful to Grandma and Grandpa Rose for holding down the fort while we were gone!
